As we head into fall, I feel the need for a few more days of sunny weather. This year it seems like fall came too early. But I remember a spectacular field of sunflowers in the La Grande Valley a few years ago. I love seeing how the oversized heads turn to follow the sun. I have also stopped and taken pictures of a barn on my way to La Grande. I admit, it doesn’t have such a nice door as the one I put on it in this painting, but I imagine if you were out in the hot field, the shade of the barn would eventually beckon you to enjoy the cool shade inside. I hope this painting brings you a bright spot of sunshine on a cloudy day.
